The Arctic is actually a vast, ice-covered ocean. The ground surrounding it is frozen and treeless. Despite this very harsh and formidable environment, the Arctic teems with life, from small organisms living in the ice to all kinds of fish and marine mammals, birds, land animals and even human societies. In this section of Jeannie's Cottage we have some birds that live in the Arctic.
