You can own your own Black-footed ferret stuffed animal. Currently Jeannie's Cottage LLC carries a variety of very handsome Black-footed Ferret plush toy.
Ferrets are similar to minks and weasels. They are about 21 inches long. The black-footed ferret ( Mustela nigripes) is the rarest mammal in North America. It is extremely endangered.
While the Black-footed Ferret resembles the ferret and the polecat in size and general appearance, it in reality is an entirely different animal. This big, yellowish-buff weasel with the black feet is at home on the Great Plains and prairies of the United States, from North Dakota and Montana south to Texas.
These ferrets feed primarily on prairie dogs. Due to the reduction of this food source, the ferrets are close to extinction. Ferrets produce one litter of about 3 to 5 young per year, after a gestation period of about 40 days.
Ferrets will also feed on mice, gophers, ground squirrels, birds, eggs and reptiles.
